With a unique name like Tau Kwar Pop, it is hard to miss this traditional rojak stall that screams heritage and taste that withstood the test of time. Since 1965, it is as old as Singapore and we knew we had to give it a try.

As you approach Tau Kwar Pop, you’ll be greeted by the sight of their skilled chefs meticulously preparing the dishes right in front of you. The star of the show here is the Tau Kwar Pop itself, a delightful combination of crispy deep-fried beancurd skin stuffed with a delectable mixture of beansprouts and cucumber, roasted over the grill till it is crunchy with the right amount of char.

One bite into the Tau Kwar Pop, and you’ll be greeted with a burst of flavors and textures. The outer layer is perfectly crispy, providing a satisfying crunch, while the inner filling is moist, savory thanks to the sweet peanut sauce it comes drenched in.

Other than the Tau Kwar (deep fried beancurd skin) that it is famous for, the rojak also comes with other common ingredients like pineapples, apples and fried fritters (youtiao).

Tau Kwar Pop is one of the faster stalls with short waiting time amongst the other stalls, so they make a good appetiser while waiting for the rest of your dishes. The fried ingredients are freshly grilled so they come out hot, a delightful combination with the sweet sour fruits. The sauce was thick and coated the fruits and sides well, overall a dish I would like to get again when I am craving for rojak.

Our rojak set was $4, but if you would like to add on more ingredients, you also have the option to customise with additional charge.
