Tiong Bahru Market offers a wide selection of delicious food, evident from the long queues you’ll find there. Min Nan Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle is a gem I discovered while following one of those queues. As the name suggests, they serve bowls of Prawn Noodles with the addition of uncommon Pork Ribs.

They offer both a soup and a dry version, and I opted for the latter since I was told that they are renowned for their chili sauce mixed into the dry noodles. But don’t worry, they also provide a bowl of prawn soup to accompany the dry noodles!

Their portions are substantial, and I recommend going for the $5 option instead of the $6. A bowl of $5 dried Pork Ribs Prawn Noodles includes a decent amount of noodles, 2 pieces of pork ribs, and 2 pieces of prawns.

The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and what stood out was the sauce coating the noodles. The chili sauce was fragrant and not overly salty. It also had pieces of beansprouts, adding a delightful crunch to every slurp of noodles.

The serving of pork ribs was generous – 2 slices of ribs with a nice meaty chunk to savor. Although I was hoping for the ribs to be slightly more tender, considering the price, I couldn’t really complain.

Unlike some prawn noodle stalls that slice the prawns in half to create the illusion of having more prawns in the dish, Min Nan’s Prawns were two whole prawns that were fresh and sweet.

The prawn soup served on the side was a great complement to the noodles, although it could benefit from having a richer umami flavor.

Considering the portion size and price, Min Nan Pork Ribs Prawn Noodles is a stall you shouldn’t miss when visiting Tiong Bahru Market!
