Monday Coffee Bar - Muji Style Cafe in Ang Mo Kio

With freshly brewed coffee and a wide variety of pastries or sandos, Monday Coffee Bar is a cosy little cafe great for an afternoon of people-watching in Ang Mo Kio. The Muji-style wooden interior paired with warm lighting makes the cafe feel very homely. The baristas are also super friendly!

We would however recommend the inside seats rather than the ones outside if you are especially prone to mosquito bites.

Menu at Monday Coffee Bar

We opted for their instagram-worthy smoked chicken sandos ($7.50) paired with Aomori Apple Juice ($5) and Flat White ($4.50). Besides their own menu, Monday Coffee Bar also features Edith Patisserie’s cakes and bakes, if you are already a fan of this famous bakery.

It was love at first sight as we split open the sando. Although sandos are already a trendy cafe food these days (and we see them on social media all the time), this sando looked deliciously refreshing! Its crisp green lettuce juxtaposed with the spicy red chicken was a good combination of healthy and yummy.

Furthermore, instead of the thick toast commonly used for sandos, Monday Coffee Bar used multigrain bread. The portion was just enough for you to not fall into a carbo coma!

As for the flat white, the barista was kind enough to put on a performance for us and did the latte art live. The notes of the coffee were clean and not too acidic, as it was well combined with the creamy steamed milk.

The Aomori Apple Juice was a good choice for the sunny afternoon as it was refreshing and more thirst quenching than the other options in the menu. However it comes from the bottle so do not expect freshly pressed juice!

All in all, if you are stopping by, we strongly recommend the sandos that are extremely affordable, to go with your choice of drinks. Perhaps a slice of cake for dessert later?
