If you’re a fan of laksa, then Heng Heng Cooked Food at Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre is a must-try. Recently, the stall was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which is a testament to the quality of their food. I visited the stall to try their famous laksa and was impressed by what I tasted.

Firstly, the laksa broth is rich and creamy, with a good balance of spice and sweetness. The coconut milk-based broth is infused with fragrant herbs and spices like lemongrass, turmeric, and galangal. The broth has a deep and complex flavor that will leave you wanting more.

The toppings are also noteworthy. The bowl comes with a generous serving of fresh prawns, fish cake slices, and cockles.. The ingredients are all fresh and cooked to perfection, adding layers of flavor and texture to the dish.

My favourite part of the fat and juicy cockles that are almost twice of the size of the ones I usually see in laska! The bowl is also garnished with fried beancurd skin (taupok), which further enhance the aroma and taste of the dish by absorbing plenty of gravy. One thing that sets Heng Heng Cooked Food’s laksa apart is the sambal chili paste that is added on the side of the laksa. The paste adds an extra kick of spice and flavor to the dish. It’s served on the side, so you can adjust the spice level to your liking. I recommend asking for more sambal chili if you are up for it!

The prices are also reasonable, with a bowl of laksa costing around $4.00. The portion size is also satisfying, making it a great value for money meal.

Overall, Heng Heng Cooked Food’s laksa at Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre is a must-try for any foodie. The Michelin Bib Gourmand award is well-deserved, and the stall’s popularity is a testament to the quality of their food. If you’re in the Jurong East area, make sure to stop by and try their delicious laksa!
