Ever had that impulse to binge on ice cream after a heart break? Heart Break Ice Cream Cafe was created just for that. With quirky decor and a hilarious variety of ice cream flavours, its vegan ice cream definitely lives up to its novelty!

It is hard to miss the ice cream parlour as it is bright pink with neon lights. While it looks happy on the outside, the interior is less than optimistic. Most part of the walls were filled with self-deprecating jokes about being #foreveralone that make you crack up in laughter. There are also plenty of human size soft toys around if you need a hug.

Not only the decor, Heart Break Ice Cream made sure to incorporate some of that humour in their ice cream too. There was an ice cream flavour that particularly caught my attention – “Yong Wei’s girlfriend” (premium flavour). I thought it would be interesting to see how Yong Wei’s girlfriend tasted, but alas! The tub was empty because…Heart break Ice Cream co-founder Yong Wei, does not have a girlfriend…

Left with no choice, we settled for “Let that Mango” (pun intended) instead. Being 100% plant-based, we were curious as to how different it would taste compared to dairy ice cream.

The first distinct difference that hits you at once is the nutty taste of the oat milk. They also used mango puree that gave the ice cream a softer texture rather than chewy like gelato, which probably explains why the ice cream didn’t come in a perfect round shape.

We really like the fact that its ingredients are transparent and made available on their website. For the mango flavour we got, there are only 3 ingredients, and the best part is that we actually understand them all!

Bonus: They are absorbing all extra charges for their premium flavours for now, so go before they change their minds!
