Drips Bakery Cafe (Tiong Bahru) Famous for its Tarts

Nestled in the quaint and charming neighborhood of Tiong Bahru, in the alley where other popular cafes such as Marci Mercel and Tiong Bahru Bakery, Drips Bakery Cafe is a hidden gem that delights both the eyes and taste buds. This cozy bakery exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, making it the perfect spot for indulging in delectable pastries and aromatic coffee.

As you step into Drips Bakery, you’ll be greeted by a display case filled with an array of tempting treats. From flaky butter pastries to luscious tarts, each item is a work of art, lovingly crafted with attention to detail and quality ingredients.

One of the standout offerings at Drips Bakery Cafe is their selection of tarts, both whole and sliced. Whether you prefer the classic Chocolate Truffle Tart ($10.90++) or crave something a bit more indulgent, like the Baked Cherry Brandy ($10++/slice), you’re in for a treat. The tarts are well-known for its quality, perfectly baked, boasting a buttery tart crust that holds a rich interior filling. The balance of flavors and textures is simply divine.

We tried Drips new arrival – Blueberry Cheesecake tart ($10.90++) that was topped with fresh blueberries and homemade jam. While it looks visually stunning with a bright pop of colours, I found the tart to be too sour with both the berries and the berry jam, and the cheese. Thankfully the sweet tart biscuit pastry helped to neutralise a bit of the tartness, it was difficult for me to have a bite without a big piece of the tart in the same mouthful.

For those with a sweet tooth, you can try the Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart ($10.90++). It is coated in a layer of velvety smooth salted caramel cream over chocolate truffle filling. It ended up being a burst of rich chocolatey goodness, the dream of every chocolate lover.

To complement their delectable pastries, we ordered the fancy looking tea from Drips Bakery cafe. We can tell that they take their beverages seriously as it comes in a glass teapot with little tea cups for each of us. The aroma of freshly brewed tea will entice you to pair your sweet treats, especially if you are looking for something light.
