Creamier is one of the OGs of heartland cafes and well loved by both the young and the young at heart. Founded by the same people of Sunday Folks, it is yet another successful dessert branch selling handcrafted ice cream in unique flavours and probably the best waffles in Singapore if I may say. Newly renovated and moved into another part of Toa Payoh, their flagship cafe is always bustling with people.

You will first be greeted by the fragrance of their waffles while waiting for your turn to enter the cafe. As the flavours change from day to day, they will update their menu and conveniently make it available by the door. I had such a difficult time choosing my flavours that the wait time felt like seconds to me. We ordered their waffle set with an additional scoop of ice cream. With just a single scoop, the waffle set cost $9.70 and an additional scoop comes at the cost of $3.30, depending on your flavours.

With 18 flavours to choose from, their flavours are separated into premium and non-premium, with the premium flavour at an additional cost of $1. We went with 2 classic flavours and always a go-to – Cookies and Cream and Earl Grey Lavender.

With a creamy and refreshing combi to go with our waffles, every bite can be different. Furthermore, each waffle set comes with 2 pieces of waffle, perfect for each scoop. The Cookies and Cream was milky with bits of cookies to crunch into and it was a bit like having waffle biscuits with sweet milk! The Earl Grey Lavender is a crowd favourite due to its strong floral tones and was a good contrast to the Cookies and Cream and acts like a palate cleanser.

Their waffles are also freshly made on the spot and if you are into crispy, dense waffles, Creamier is the place for you! I personally love how crispy their waffles are because they don’t get soggy even after they absorb melted ice cream.

I recently learnt that they do takeaways as well. A pint of ice cream and pre-packed waffles with specific heating instructions so you can have them even in the comfort of your home! I would still pop by occasionally though, because Creamier is always coming up with exciting new flavours (check out their most recent Mochaccino!).
